The University of Rijeka/Faculty of Civil Engineering

Founded in 1973, the University of Rijeka has matured into a modern European university and center of excellence whose impact extends beyond the region. With a total of 16 academic units, we are a research, science, and education-oriented university that supports social and economic development in our community, the City of Rijeka, and the wider region. The Faculty of Civil Engineering, today one of the University’s units, was founded in 1969 and offers university and vocational education programmes in civil engineering. The Faculty is an active and internationally recognised partner in the advancement of existing and the creation of new knowledge in the field of civil engineering and related scientific disciplines. The mission of the Faculty is the education and professional development of academic staff in the field of civil engineering, based on the principles of inseparability of scientific work and higher education. Our mission is also to promote the profession and to raise awareness of its importance for sustainable development of the society, while promoting academic principles and contributing to human development.
