Vocational orientation and preparation for work experience – Professional and digital support for schools in Saxony
was the topic of a Learning and Teaching Event on 10 April 2024 for 32 teachers in Leipzig, Saxony. In an introductory presentation, participants heard from a student directly from the field about what young people need to successfully complete internships or work experience. They learnt how the project’s modules can be used in schools for precisely this purpose. They heard how they can cooperate with companies to familiarise students with the professional reality that awaits them in the future. They were able to try out for themselves how much fun it can be to be practically active in three different parallel workshops. The exercises presented can be found with instructions on the project website.
Participants included teachers from grammar schools, secondary schools, practical advisors and careers advisors. The valuable time to network was almost too short and the lively exchange of contacts showed how important this part of the event was. Cluster formation and cross-school co-operation as a goal of our project was ensured in this way.
Further training events of this kind are planned in Chemnitz and Dresden.
